WHAT YOU NEED
1 - 3 x 3 x 3 inch gift box (available at box stores)
3 black pipe cleaners
2 google eyes
1 pack of plastic craft strips (available at craft stores)
Craft glue gun
Craft knife
Black spray paint
Newspapers or other protective covering
Clear acrylic spray paint
HOW TO DO IT
Take the box to a well-ventilated area and place on newsprint.
Cover the box completely with black spray paint. This may take two coats.
Let the paint dry.
Now cover with a coat of clear acrylic paint to seal.
(PARENTS ONLY) Use a craft knife to make 3 small slits on each side of the box, just above the bottom edge, for the spider's legs.
Thread each of the 3 pipe cleaners through the slits so that they go in one side and out the other.
You should now have 6 legs, 3 on each side. Bend them to look like spider legs.
Measure your child's wrist and trim one of the plastic strips so that it measures to that length.
Fill a small microwave safe bowl with water and heat for about 1 1/2 minutes.
Now place the plastic strip into the bowl and return it to the microwave until the strip is pliable enough to bend to fit your child's wrist.
Once you have formed the strip into a bracelet that fits your child, put it aside for a short time to dry.
While the bracelet is drying, you can make the spider's face by gluing on 2 google eyes and drawing a smile using glow-in-the-dark puff paint.
When the bracelet has completely dried, use craft glue to secure it to the bottom of the "Silly Spider"
To make this a special Halloween Treat, place into the box using double-sided cellophane tape to secure.
These make great Halloween party favors for each child to take home.
FOLLOW UP FUN

Cut out head and armholes. Leave the bottom of the box open.
Spray the box black and decorate it to resemble a spider.
Dress your child in black from head to toe and make two Silly Spider Bracelets; one for each wrist.
Finish the costume with craft store spider webs.
