WHAT YOU NEED
White t-shirt
Black sweat pants
2 red bandanas (available at craft stores)
Fabric scissors
1 sheet of black craft foam
1 hole punch
1/8 inch wide black elastic
1 gold-tone hoop earring (optional)
Black face paint (available at craft and Halloween stores)
HOW TO DO IT
Cut the sleeves and the bottom of a t-shirt in a zigzag pattern.
Cut the legs of a pair of sweat pants in a zigzag pattern, making sure that the length falls somewhere along the mid-calf.
Print out the
eye patch template
.
Trace the eye patch onto black craft foam and cut it out.
Using a 1/8 inch hole punch, make holes in the patch where indicated on the template.
Cut a piece of black elastic, about 12 inches to 16 inches depending on the size of your child's head. Thread it through each hole in the patch and tie it off at each end.
Fold one of the bandanas to form a triangle and tie around your child's head. Wrap the other bandana around the waist.
Add the eye patch and earring to complete the pirate look!
TIPS
Use black face paint to apply a mustache and dark shadows around the eyes.
