WHAT YOU NEED
1 empty 4.23 oz.
NESTLÉ
JUICY JUICE box
Craft knife
Hot glue gun
Green spray paint
Black permanent marker
Heavy card stock
Cellophane tape
Safety scissors
Red acrylic paint
Paint brush
1 rubber band
Utility knife
1 pair google eyes (available at craft stores)
HOW TO DO IT
Wash and dry a 4.23 oz.
NESTLÉ
JUICY JUICE box.
(PARENTS ONLY) Cut off the top portion of the box (containing the straw opening). This opening will be the bottom of the frog.
Print out the
arms and legs template
onto heavy card stock. Cut out the pieces.
In a well-ventilated area, spray paint the box, arms and legs with green spray paint.
With a black permanent marker, add spots to the frog's body, arms and legs
With a hot glue gun, attach the google eyes to the top of the box.
Paint in your frog's tongue with red acrylic paint, let dry.
Attach the arms and legs using cellophane tape or a glue gun.
(PARENTS ONLY) Cut a small hole into the top center of the box using a utility knife.
Cut a rubber band to make one long strand. Tie a knot in one end and thread it through the hole in the box.
Now just hold onto the end of the rubber band, move your arm up and down and watch your frog jump!
TIPS
To add a small handle to the end of the elastic band, just thread the end of the elastic through a 1 inch wide wooden bead and secure with a knot. Add a dab of glue so that the knot stays tied.
FOLLOW UP FUN
Go the library and check out children's books about frogs. Your child can help the frog jump while you read.
