Serving up a healthy meal in a muffin tin makes eating a nutritious meal fun!

WHAT YOU NEED
1 six cup muffin tin
Whole grain crackers
Carrot sticks
Slices of cheese
1 chicken leg or chicken tender
NESTLÉ GOOBERS, RAISINETS and/or SNO-CAPS
1 NESTLÉ JUICY JUICE box
Construction paper
Black marker pen
Safety scissors
Cellophane tape
Food Guide Pyramid
HOW TO DO IT
Print out the
Food Guide Pyramid
Place one of each of the food groups in a six-cup muffin tin. One suggestion is:
Grain: Whole grain crackers
Fruit: 1 Box of NESTLÉ JUICY JUICE
Vegetable: Carrot sticks
Meat: Chicken leg or chicken tenders
Milk/Dairy: Cheese slices
Fats & Sweets: NESTLÉ GOOBERS, RAISINETS and/or SNO-CAPS
Use construction paper and a marker pen to label each food group.
Discuss each of the food groups as you serve this to your child it's a fun and educational lunch!
FOLLOW UP FUN
Label envelopes or small containers with the name of each of the 6 food groups. Have your child think of several foods that belong to each group and write them on small pieces of paper. Then, place them in their respective envelopes.
When it's lunchtime, have your child draw one item from each food group container.
This continues to reinforce healthy eating and keeps your child involved in the process.
