Five easy tips for your child's basket.
More on

Try these five easy tips for festive Easter baskets:

Start by getting creative with the baskets — Each child is special; their basket should be, too! To personalize them, decorate with ribbons in your kids’ favorite colors. Or, choose a theme they love (sports, ballet, music, painting) and add special themed surprises.

Line the basket with artificial grass — Or, go green and make your own with shredded tissue paper or comic pages.

Add plastic eggs and loose candies next — like NESTLE® BUTTERFINGER® NestEggs™ and NESTLE® CRUNCH® NestEggs.™ Hide some of the candies in the plastic eggs. (They’re great for egg hunts, too!)

Fill out the basket with larger treats — Start with a beautiful bag of WONKA® SPREE® Jelly Beans, in Lemon, Cherry or Green Apple flavors. Then, add an adorable WONKA® Everlasting GOBSTOPPER® Eggbreakers or WONKA® RUNTS® Freckled Eggs mini-basket to bring on the smiles!

Let the bunnies take center stage! — NESTLE® CRUNCH® and BUTTERFINGER® BUNNIES are perfect as center stuffers for your baskets. So hop to it – and have fun!

My mom always did the best for her grandkids. She would do an egg hunt of 12 eggs per kid, put candy and money in them, and the parents would hide their kids eggs outside. Kids did not get their baskets til the egg hunt was over. Then she always gave them a huge, oversized, basket full of stuff! Candy, gift cards, toys, clothes. My kids loved this! We at home use the same basket each year, kids put on the table with their "empty eggs" so the bunny can fill eggs so we hide them in AM. FUN!

Easter will always be a holiday I will remember from notes from "Harvey" the Easter Bunny to the thrill of finding my easter basket that morning. My parents always had creative on ideas on where to hide our baskets. One year "Harvey" the Easter Bunny had hidden them in the dryer. Looking for the basket and the note from Harvey will be something I will teach my own children one day now my fiance is the one who gets to look for the basket and reads the note from Harvey.

One of my favorite memories of Easter was when my Grandmother sent us on a treasure hunt. She gave each child a ball of yarn that she had strung all around the house (upstairs and downstairs). Along the way she wrapped the yarn around candy and little presents. We had a blast following our yarn to find our treasures.

We had the tradition growing up that we used the same basket every year. I have continued that tradtion with my childrena dn they love it. They get so excited to put their baskets out the night before and see what is in them on easter morning.

We have always had our regular egg hunt with candy filled and regular eggs, but we also had an Easter Basket Hunt. We started at the hearth with a clue that lead to another note, to another note, that finally lead to their hidden Easter filled basket. My children are grown today, but have said that the hunt with clues to the next note was the most fun. They even started hiding my birthday and Mother's day presents the same way.

We love Easter at our house as most do. However, my children are getting older, but I still love to surprise them. My kids are ages 7-20 and they always look forward to the fun. I've used frisbees, TV Trays, sand buckets, football helmets, house slippers, all sorts of items as the "basket" per say. It's always a challenge for me to find new a different items to use as the basket part, but it's great. I try to choose an item each kid enjoys. Just have fun with it.

I also like to give my children easter "baskets" they can use all year. We live close to the beach, so sometimes I'll fill a sand pail with candy and other fun things such as bubbles and sidewalk chalk, but one thing is always the same...chocolate bunnies. They get a chocolate bunny every year. The Nestle Crunch bunnies are my favorite.

I always give my kids something they can use for a basket; like a trash can for their room with sponge bob or something like that on it, or a container they can put their toys or other things in. One year I gave my girls a container for their hair things. I try to be creative about it.
