Write A Birthday Poem For Your Child
Average User Rating:
| 11 Ratings
Ages 3 and Up
Duration: Under One Hour
Each year, for your child's birthday, write a special poem. It's easy if you keep it simple and write from your heart!

HOW TO DO IT
Look back on the year and think about special moments or events. Or, write about your child's special qualities. The first day of school, growing two inches, his or her sense of humor or mischievous nature, may be the kind of thing you want to write about.
For younger children, we suggest that you keep the poem short. Then as your child gets older, you can write longer poems.
Wrap the poem up as a gift or roll it up like a scroll and tie with a ribbon.
After your child has read the poem, put it into a scrapbook. Add a poem each year, along with a photograph or several photographs of your child on his or her birthday.
Here's a couple of examples to get you started:
When you were 1 you learned to walk.
Then you were 2, and you started to talk.
At 3 and at 4 you could even sing,
And at 5 you got into everything!
Now you are 6 and it's easy to see
That whatever your age, you're special to me!
I can hardly believe that you are eight,
You're so big. Was it something you ate?
That home run you hit was really a thrill.
And your Halloween story gave me a chill!
You know I don't like it when you collect bugs,
So to make me feel better, give me some hugs.
