WHAT YOU NEED
  • 1 pillowcase
  • 1 sheet of dark purple felt - or any color you choose
  • 1 sheet of light purple felt - or any color you choose
  • 1 sheet of white felt
  • 4 decorative beads
  • 1 yard of cotton lace trim
  • Fabric glue
  • Velcro® self-adhesive dots
  • Silver glitter/confetti

HOW TO DO IT
  • Cut a 6 1/2 inch by 7 1/2 inch rectangle out of the dark purple felt.

  • Cut a 4 1/2 inch by 5 1/2 inch rectangle out of the light purple felt.

  • Print out the tooth template.

  • Trace the tooth onto the white felt and cut out.

  • Glue the tooth to the light purple felt rectangle leaving the top of the tooth open in order to form the "tooth pocket."

  • Glue a decorative bead to each corner of the light purple felt.

  • Edge the light purple rectangle with the cotton lace trim.

  • Position the finished light purple rectangle on top of the dark purple rectangle and glue into place.

  • Turn the Tooth Fairy Pillow over. Apply Velcro® self-adhesive dots to each corner.

  • Place the Tooth Fairy Pillow on the pillowcase you have chosen and apply matching dots to the case so that the little pillow will stay in place during the night.

  • When your child loses a baby tooth, bring out the Tooth Fairy Pillow and pillowcase.

  • Put it on the bed and let them place their tooth into the "tooth pocket."

  • When your child is asleep, replace the tooth with a coin or NESTLÉ® CRUNCH® Fun Size bar. Then sprinkle a trail of silver glitter or confetti in the direction of the window as evidence that the Tooth Fairy was here to visit!

FOLLOW-UP FUN
  • Tell your child the legend of the Tooth Fairy. Explain to your child that when a loose baby tooth comes out, you should put it under your pillow when you go to bed that night. The Tooth Fairy will visit you during the night and collect your tooth from under your pillow while you sleep. Being a kind Fairy, she always leaves behind a small reward to say thank you, and always carries a good supply of fairy dust, which she sprinkles to give every child sweet dreams.

  • Suggested activities:
    • Spend some time explaining the importance of good dental health and hygiene to your child. Show your child the correct way to use dental floss and how to brush their teeth.
    • Encourage your child to write a letter to the Tooth Fairy asking her questions, like, where does she live, and how does she know when you lose a tooth?
    • Ask your child what he or she thinks the Tooth Fairy does with all the teeth she collects.
