WHAT YOU NEED
  • Empty 64 oz. NESTLÉ JUICY JUICE or JUICY JUICE SCORE! bottle (washed and dried)
  • Craft knife
  • Dowel rod
  • Craft glue gun
  • Nylon all-weather rope
  • Acrylic paints (waterproof)
  • Paint brush
  • Bag of sunflower seeds or bird seed (available at pet or feed stores)

HOW TO DO IT
  • Remove the label, rinse and dry one 64 oz. NESTLÉ JUICY JUICE or SCORE! bottle.

  • PARENTS ONLY: Using the craft knife, cut out one of the rectangular grip sections on each side of the bottle.

  • PARENTS ONLY: At the bottom of the cutouts, cut a notch large enough to hold the dowel rod in place. Place the dowel rod in the notches and secure using the craft glue gun.

  • PARENTS ONLY: Cut out two holes at the top of the bottle, just below the lid, and string an 8 inch piece of rope through the holes. Tie the rope in knots at the ends to hold the rope in place. This can be done by pulling the rope down and through the side openings.

  • With waterproof acrylic paints, paint your bottle with bright colors. Be creative!

  • Add sunflower seeds or birdseed to the inside of the bottle and hang outside on a tree branch or hook.

  • Sit back and watch your feathered friends come to visit.

TIPS
  • If the edges of the side cut-outs are sharp, seal them with glue using the craft glue gun.

FOLLOW UP THE FUN

  • Assign each family member a time to be the person in charge of the "cleaning and feeding" of the bird feeder.

  • Encourage your kids to watch the bird feeder often and look for birds that come to the feeder. You might keep a bird book by a window near the feeder so that they can identify each bird that comes to eat!
