A collection of family memories is a wonderful way to honor Mom on her special day!

WHAT YOU NEED
Colored construction paper.
Safety scissors
Decorative scissors (available at craft stores)
Glue stick
Copies of favorite photos of Mom and kids
Old magazines
HOW TO DO IT
Choose a sheet of colored construction paper for the background of the collage.
Cut out "M-O-M" from colored paper and with a glue stick adhere it to colored construction paper.
Make copies of favorite photos to use in the collage.
Use decorative scissors to cut the photos into shapes.
Surround the word MOM with the trimmed pictures and adhere them to the background with a glue stick.
Cut out words from old magazines that describe your Mom or things she likes to do.
Use a glue stick to adhere the words and sayings in the spaces of the collage between the pictures.
Present your finished Mother's Day Collage to Mom on Mother's Day.
TIPS
Make frames of contrasting construction paper and apply to the back of some of the pictures before gluing them to the collage background.
Add stickers, ribbon and glitter if you'd like to add more dimension to your collage.
FOLLOW UP FUN
Collage making is a wonderful activity for little artists. They can have themes like sports, holidays or family events. You can also have a nature walk and collect small pine cones, nut shells and dried berries to incorporate into a collage.
