4 pieces of PVC tubing 1 1/2 inches long by 1 1/2 inches wide (these can be precut at your local hardware store)

Cut out ears, nose and feet from pink craft foam.
Cut out eyes from purple craft foam.
Prepare ears according to template directions.
(PARENTS ONLY) Lay the bottle on its side and cut two vertical slits 1 3/4 inches back from the bottle cap. The slits should be 1 3/4 inches long by 3/16 inches wide (see illustration).
Once ears are cut, glued and folded, slide them into the slits.
Glue the nose to the top of the bottle cap.
Glue the eyes just above the nose and make a small dot on each eye with a paint pen or marker to show the direction the peg is looking.
Hot glue the pink craft foam pieces around the PVC pipe pieces for the feet. If you find that the pipe edges are a bit rough, go over them with fine grain sand paper to smooth them out.
Hot glue the feet to the bottom of the bottle (opposite side of the ears). They should be spaced out 1/2 inch apart from side to side and 1 1/4 inches from front to back.
(PARENTS ONLY) With a utility knife, cut a small (about 1/8 inch each direction) criss-cross into the top back end of the bottle.
Twist a pink pipe cleaner into a spiral and insert one end into the criss-cross. You can use hot glue to secure it if necessary.
Tie a bow to the pig's tail using the narrow ribbon
(PARENTS ONLY) Use a utility knife to cut a vertical slit (the same direction as the slits for the ears) out of the top to make an opening for your money to be dropped in. The size of the slit should be 1/4 inch wide by 1 inch long.
When your child wishes to remove the money from the Piggy Bank, just unscrew the pig's nose!
TIPS
If you choose not to use a PVC pipe for the feet, empty spools of thread can also be used and covered with craft foam.
If you have a child who is not interested in a pink piggy bank, just cut out the pig's ears, nose and feet from a sheet of brown craft foam.
FOLLOW UP FUN
As your children begin earning money from chores, small jobs or as gifts from relatives, suggest opening up a savings account at the bank. Let them be involved whenever a deposit is made.
