These tiny cups made out of chocolate and filled with peanut butter filling are the perfect treat at the end of a Valentine dinner.

  • 15 small candy paper liners
  • 1 cup of creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of butter, softened

How to do it
MICROWAVE 21 Nestlé Hearts in medium, uncovered, microwave-safe bowl on MEDIUM-HIGH (70%) power for 1 minute; STIR. The Nestlé Hearts may retain some of their original shape. If necessary, microwave at additional 10- to 15-second intervals, stirring just until melted. With a small pastry brush, coat inside of 15 small candy paper liners with melted chocolate.

REFRIGERATE for 20 minutes; coat any thin spots. Refrigerate for an additional 30 minutes or until firm.

BEAT peanut butter, sugar and butter in small mixer bowl until creamy.

I have made chocolate cups before & used the foil liners, they worked great...not as hard to do as you might think. I made a strawberry mousse filling that was wonderful, for anybody with peanut allergy concerns.

To prevent the cups from folding up simply use a toothpick to hold up any side that wants to fold or cling to another side. Also try using white chocolate pieces from the craft section/store . You can eve dye it pink.

you can also use ALMOND BUTTER in place of peanut butter.you can get it fresh from the fresh market...my child never liked peanut butter so i tried Almond and she liked it..so it works out great...

instead of using peanut butter, you can also use sun butter. it's made of sunflower seeds and its what we use for the kids school, which is peanut free. you can find it at trader joes or whole foods or other natural food stores.

I think that I saw little heart shaped silicone molds in the dollar spot at Target. That would be really cute. I'll have to give this a try.

If you're concerned about Peanut allergies, maybe cream cheese would work. You could even use the strawberry flavored so it looked more Valentiney!

We use soy nut butter here in our house. The kids love it!

I was thinking of making these for my daughters class but there is a child with peanut allergies. Is there a good substitute for the peanut butter? Would caramel work?

Sees like a waste of money buying the paper cups when a candy mold works just as well. They run about $2.00 at your local candy supply store or craft store.

I've made chocolate cups before, two different ways. You can use the silicon re-usable cupcake liners; or I've used a "reese's peanut butter cup" candy mold also. I got mine at Hobby Lobby. I think either of those ways would be easier than papercups. Sounds yummy!

I would imagine the painting part would be tricky, any suggestions as not to have the paper cups 'fold up' while holding them while paiting the chocolate on them? BUT, they sound so YUMMMMMMMY
